Crisis wedding in Greece
Doing prospection for my Mediterranean Project in the port city of Patras, Greece, I bumped into this weird wedding party. Christos Karalis (44), who married Anna (26), decided to have the party in his petrol station, to save on expenses. "This is how we respond to the crisis", a family member said to me. "Please show these pictures to Merkel. A Greek keeps on laughing and celebrating, even when his money is being taken away."
Late at night traditional Greek music was being played and people started to dance the sirtaki. It was a great party. Not only because of the setting, but also because of the hospitality of the whole family.
Mediterranean beaches

De Standaard published some of Mediterranean photographs last weekend. The pictures show beaches in Montenegro, Kroatia, Spain and Lebanon.

Projet Mediterranee: Cannes
I'm at the film festival in Cannes, trying to photograph some glitter and glamour for my new book. Just had my first red carpet experience here, knowing this is not my cup of tea. What's the point of making the same photograph of the same actress, along with more than one hundred photographers? There is no room to move around and the celebrities never look into my lense. The streets are far more interesting. Everybody famous!

Projet Mediterranee: Istanbul
Another chapter of my Mediterranean project is ready. I've been working on urban transformation in Istanbul last week.

I will be photographing the rest of the Turkish Mediterranean coast coming summer, on a combined trip to Greece and Turkey. I'm halfway the project now. Countries visited: Cyprus, Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, Lebanon, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey. Countries still to do: France, Monaco, Italy, Malta, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Israel, Gaza and Libia.
A week in India
I am photographing a Don Bosco school in Pune, India, on assignment for Corporate Funding Programme. DB Tech is a technical school where disadvantaged youngsters from all over India learn a profession in a relativily short period of time (3 to 6 months). The majority of the people trained here find a job afterwards. Here are some pictures of the first day.
